Making your business conference stand out

Business conferences are incredibly important when it comes to networking and growing as a company. They provide a fantastic platform to present your ideas on and are a great way to help you and your employees develop your knowledge and understanding of the business.

Business conferences – differing from the rest

As one of the country’s leading conference organisers, here at AWD we can help make your business conferences stand out from the rest. Sometimes corporate events such as conferences don’t sound very exciting to attend and it’s our job to change this outlook. By making sure your event is as original as it can be, you can make sure that your ideas stay at the very forefront of people’s minds. We’ll help to organise refreshments, transport, and anything else necessary for corporate events, so that you can focus on the content to make your conference one-of-a-kind.

Welcoming visitors to your conference the right way

In order for a conference to be successful, your attendees need to be arriving with a positive and open mindset. The idea of attending a conference can sometimes trigger the opposite to this, so when approached by a finance company to support their conference, we knew that we needed to think outside the box.

The conference was going to be for around 120 people who were part of the Manchester-based company – many of whom were not used to attending these types of events. We ensured that they all travelled to Dublin where they were under the impression, they would be attending the conference at the hotel straightaway. The visitors were directed onto the waiting coaches, unbeknown that they were also being accompanied by actors. Let onto the coach by the drivers who were also part of the acting, the actors began to try and encourage the people to skip the conference and attend a dog racing event instead.

With the help of some fellow team members that were part of this, the parties all eventually agreed to go to the Greyhound Stadium. Everyone was given spending money, and they spent a few hours placing bets, watching the races, and socialising.

Visitors were led to believe they were going back onto the coach, however once the doors opened, they were greeted by ourselves and the client who welcomed them to the evening conference. By this point everyone understood that the events were all part of the conference build-up, the bets were donated to charity and everyone took their seat for the conference – obviously in a much brighter mood than to begin with.

Once the conference finished, we arranged for a member of U2 to come in and play the piano for everyone and entertainment lasted until the early hours of the following morning.  We want business ideas to be presented in a fun and insightful manner if appropriate, and the build-up to this Dublin conference made sure that everyone arrived with a committed mindset and a positive attitude.
